Optimal Saturated Block Designs when Observations are Correlated

A-and MV-optimal block designs are identified in the class of minimally connected designs when the observations within blocks are spatially correlated. All connected designs are shown to be D-equal regardless of the correlation structure, and a sufficient condition for E-optimality is presented. Earlier results for the uncorrelated case are strengthened.

Construction of Second Order Slope - Rotatable Designs

In this paper, a new method of construction of three and five level second order slope-rotatable designs (SOSRD) using two suitably chosen dissimilar incomplete block designs like balanced incomplete block designs and symmetrical unequal block arrangements with two unequal block sizes is developed. The method of construction of SOSRD by Victorbabu and Narasimham [11] is shown to be a particular...

Second-Order Experimental Designs for Simulation Metamodeling

The main purpose of this study is to compare the performance of a group of second-order designs such as Box-Behnken, face-center cube, three-level factorial, central composite, minimum bias, and minimum variance plus bias for estimating a quadratic metamodel. A time-shared computer system is used to demonstrate the ability of the designs in providing good fit of the metamodel to the simulation ...

Optimum ordering policies when order costs depend on time

— This paper considers optimum ordering policies minimizing the expected cost per unit time in the steady-state. It is assumed that a lead time for the spare is constant and order costs depend on time. It is shown in theorem that there exists afinite and unique optimum ordering policy under certain conditions.

Pseudo-second order model for sorption processes

A literature review of the use of sorbents and biosorbents to treat polluted aqueous effluents containing dyes/organics or metal ions has been conducted. Over 70 systems have been reported since 1984 and over 43 of these reported the mechanism as being a pseudo-first order kinetic mechanism. Three sorption kinetic models are presented in this paper and have been used to test 11 of the literatur...
